Year 3H

Welcome to Year 3H!

Hello parents and pupils,

I am Mrs Howard the Year 3 teacher. In our class we also have help from our teaching assistant Mrs Bower and therapy dog Amadeus.

Here you will find out all about our wonderful learning this school year.

Topics this year include Habitats and Plants, Rocks and Soil, Light and Shadow and Forces and Magnets in Science. We will learn about cooking, textiles and mechanisms in DT and computer systems and networks and data handling in Computing. We will also be learning about Settlements in Geography which will link well with our historical learning on The Stone Age to Iron Age, Ancient Greeks and the Romans.

In our Maths learning, as well as our Place Value, Addition and Subtraction and many other areas of maths learning, we will also be working hard to learn our 3, 4 and 8 times tables.

We love to read and we encourage pupils to read at home each day. We also look forward to our weekly time in our wonderful school library. We look forward to our family READ sessions each term in the library where our parents can come along and enjoy our amazing selection of books as a family.

In Year 3 we are fortunate to have lots of great school trips to go on linked to lots of our learning, from History to Geography and PE. In Year 3 we are working hard on being respectful and safe so we are ready to do some wonderful learning.
