Welcome to Year 2U!
Hello and a warm welcome to our Year 2 class page! I’m Mrs Urban, the Year 2 class teacher, and I’m delighted to be part of your child’s learning journey this year. In Year 2, our golden rule is simple but powerful: “Try hard and never give up.” We encourage resilience, curiosity, and a love for learning in everything we do. Our vibrant classroom provides the perfect environment to explore, discover, and grow. We aim to make every day exciting and meaningful through a carefully planned mix of structured lessons and hands-on learning experiences.
Our curriculum is designed to be both engaging and challenging. Each half term, we introduce a new theme, which inspires a variety of cross-curricular activities.
Throughout the year, we also focus on developing key skills in reading, writing, maths, science, and the wider curriculum.
We hope you enjoy exploring our class page and seeing the exciting learning opportunities and achievements from this academic year.

Please bring a reading folder each day.
If anyone is available to hear the children read, please let us know. This would be a huge help and any amount of time would be greatly appreciated. We have a couple of trips planned, but we will provide more information closer to the time.
